Abstract
Razen kadra (mediatorja) dejansko strošek uvedbe mediacije ni velik in dolgoročno zagotavlja boljše delovanje zdravstvenega tima, zmanjšuje osip delavcev in topli medčloveške odnose.

Title:Medical team staff conflicts mediation : literature review
Abstract:
Introduction: In the work process, challenges and conflicts arise among employees, both among co-workers and among superior-inferior staff members. Conflicts among employees must not affect the execution of tasks within the work process. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma is to define the possibilities of mediation to resolve conflicts within the nursing medical team and to determine if mediation is an effective means for resolving conflicts and, furthermore, what organizational and other preconditions are necessary to implement it. Methods: A descriptive method of work was used with critical literature reading. The literature was acquired through the information database Digitalna knjižnica UL (University of Ljubljana digital library) and through the Medline system, focusing on mediation. The included search criteria were: time, accessibility in English, mediation in the healthcare system and employee conflicts. Sources providing full-text access were used. In order to research work-related mediation, literature was also acquired through the Ljubljana Law Faculty Library. Results: Due to the challenges of working in nursing, severe conflicts among co-workers can arise. The sources of conflicts can vary from an expert error to poor work organization or bullying. Potentially, a source of conflict can be attributed to a personal issue, such as different ethnical or religious background. Mediation is one of the options to resolve these conflicts. Discussion and conclusion: Employees under stress are perceiving conflicts emotionally and mediation is an effective means to resolve these conflicts. There are no set rules how to resolve conflicts in mediation – proactive, passive listening or by preventive measures. For the involved, employer, judicial system and the society as a whole, it is faster, more economic and more human to resolve issues by mediation instead of reaching out to courts. Except for the cost of additional staff (a mediator), the costs of mediation introduction is not excessive and ensures better health team functioning in the long term, reduces staff leaving and enrichens human relations in general.
