Abstract

Abstract:
Improvisational Theatre has been present in Slovenia for over twenty -six years, and some people have found improvisation even earlier than that, but no one has ever done a dense historical review or a literary theoretical analysis, until now. This thesis makes a modest historical overview of the improvisations from ancient Greece through Renaissance Italy to Europe and America in the 20th century. More than a modest amount of pages is devoted to improvisational theater in Slovenian territory, which has begun to emerge significantly sooner than you might think. In addition to the established "Impro liga" and "ŠILA", the reader will also learn about many other projects, such as Improklub, Collective Narobov, United ŠILA Theater and numerous TV and radio projects. There will even be an attempt at a theoretical compartmentalisation of the most open and free theatrical form in the World.
