The master's thesis explores the views of a woman in the dramas of Slovenian dramatists. In the task I analyze the plays of Zofka Kveder, which created in the period called moderna (1890-1910), and shows women and their social roles in the early 20th century. Women are shown as mothers, married women. Their main problems are law-abiding, enforced marriage, the death of a child, and the inability to work outside the home. After the second world war dramatics of Mira Mihelič brings a look at women who are employed and educated. To achieve their goal, they are ready to sacrifice everything. The dramatics of the 80's and 90's, which I am analyzing through dramas of Draga Potočnjak and Alenka Goljevšček, again shows us a woman in her intimacy. The woman is already emancipated and no longer needs to prove it, therefore dramatics shows more of her personal struggles and mutual relations. The dramas of Simona Semenič and Iza Strehar portray a woman in the 21st century as she searches for her space in an uncertain postmodern society.
