Office services within the cloud are with no doubt an efficient solution of the modern time. Ability to receive and edit information in real time – whenever and wherever – with supportive internet connection and web browser makes work in business significantly easier and more efficient. Consequently, companies are able to gain advantage over competitive businesses. Needs and interest in such services therefore encourage a wide variety of providers on the market. While some of the developers are offering basic office services for free, others demand payment for them. With descriptive and comparative methods we figured out, why the existence of payable options is relevant in spite of many available free services. Analysis of our secondary sources helped us understand the semantics of cloud computing. Mentioned methods enabled an overall insight of the mentioned topic. We were able to conclude, that free services provide certain applications and functions, needed for basic office needs. Payable, however, are to be considered necessarily when wanting to expand or upgrade our usage of office services.
