Abstract

Title:Printing functional inks on textiles
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis is described the process of printing using conductive ink on the textile. First, simple lines were made and printability and runnability was tested and than RFID antennas were printed. Finally, the functioning of the printed RFID antennas was analyzed on two different textile materials, polyester and tencel. In the theoretical part functional printing is presented, in particular, its development and the advantages. Functional printing on textiles and screen printing is also described as the printing method used for printing RFID antennas. The practical part presents materials used for printing, as well as the methods used for performing measurements on samples. The conductivity measurements were made for printing inks used for printing RFID antenna. Measurements showed low or none conductivity for lines with a thickness of 0.5 mm on textile samples, lines of higher thicknesses (5mm) were successfully conducting electrical current. The measurements of the resistance of the printing ink to rubbing are shown graphically for tencel and polyester, the printing material with poorest abrasion resistance is tencel. Printed RFID tags on the textile material tencel and polyester are operating efficiently. Radiated power of RFID tags printed on tencel compared with the RFID tags printed on paper did not differ significantly, while the radiation power of RFID tags printed on polyester is substantially lower than on other samples.
