In the beggining of her work, the author describes the notion of Buddhism in general. Afterwards she dedicates herself to a detailed description of the three foundations of Buddhism, which are called gems. The three gems are Buddha, dhamma and sangha. Firstly, she presents the biography of Prince Siddhattha Gotama, who through trials and hardships walked the path to enlightenment and became Buddha. Next, she dedicates herself to Buddha's teachings and the various directions into which the teachings parted. Furthermore, she gradually develops her way into the central part of the thesis and explains in detail the four noble truths. The main emphasis stands on the way, that leads a person out of suffering of everyday life into a tranquil being, that is the noble eightfold path. The steps that lead form the proper understanding, proper thinking, proper speech, proper action, proper way of life, proper persistence, proper atteniton to proper concentration, approach the peak of perception of the phenomenal world, which through development of wisdom enables the insight into the final truth of all things. In the course of writing, she interprets various types of meditations that, as taugh by the Buddhist monks, help one on the path to enlightenment.
