The topic of this work is the characterization of two-phase flow regime transition at the gas jet in the liquid cross flow. The classification of the two-phase flow regimes has been thus far mostly carried out based on flow observation and subjective judgment. The work deals with the development and application of a new method, which enables objective determination of the two-phase flow regime based on digital post-processing of high-speed video recordings. The method compares the structural flow functions at three locations along the channel for each flowrate combination. The development and calibration of the method were carried out with half of the measurements made, while the rest was used as a test and control of method performance. The method proved to be reliable in most cases, as the appropriate regime was predicted.
