Abstract

Title:ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF FACTORS ON THE SCOPE OF ELECTRONIC PARTICIPATION
Abstract:
The digital age influences the development of political participation and this also applies to Slovenia as the country follows the guidelines and standards provided by the European Union. The aim of the master’s thesis is to analyse the relationship between political participation and e-participation in terms of theory and on the basis of the empirical research analysis. The thesis focuses on the empirical research on e-participation. To this end, we conducted a survey and tried to determine to what extent citizens participate in decision-making and to what extent the cooperation increases when using information and communication technologies through a survey questionnaire. We also aimed to identify the attitude towards participation and towards e-participation, but also how the trust in the government and socio-demographic data influence e-participation. The findings showed that the attitude towards participation is related to the attitude towards e-participation. The analysis also indicated that the citizens’ trust in institutions and socio-demographic data have no effect on the level of e-participation. The results of the master's thesis have therefore opened up an important area of research, the aim of which is to show the factors that arise and affect the level of e-participation.
