Vloga prostovoljcev pri integraciji beguncev : magistrsko delo

Delo obravnava prostovoljstvo na področju dela z begunci. Ključna teoretična izhodišča so koncept integracije, Putnamov koncept socialnega kapitala in socialnega mreženja, Allportova kontaktna hipoteza in hipoteza medskupinskega sodelovanja. Dotaknem se tudi pomena prostovoljstva v sodobni družbi in njegovega prispevka k ohranjanju družbene solidarnosti in kohezije. V teoretičnem delu predstavim tudi zakonodajo na področju integracije beguncev in različne programe integracije, ki jih izvajajo neprofitne organizacije, ki pri svojem delu vključujejo pomoč prostovoljcev. Namen empiričnega dela je raziskati, kakšno vlogo imajo prostovoljci v procesu integracije beguncev. Pri tem sem na problemsko situacijo pogledala tako s perspektive prostovoljcev kot tudi s perspektive beguncev. Uporabljen je kvalitativni raziskovalni pristop. V raziskavo so vključeni trije prostovoljci, štirje begunci in ena organizatorka prostovoljskega dela na področju dela z begunci. Podatki so bili zbrani s pomočjo delno strukturiranega intervjuja in dnevniških zapiskov. Podatki so bili analizirani z metodo kodiranja. Pomen ugotovitev je predvsem v spoznanju pomembnosti prostovoljcev v procesu integracije beguncev za družbo in za begunce same.

• Title: The role of volunteers in the integration of refugees

Abstract

This thesis is addressing volunteering for work with refugees. The key theoretical foundations are: concept of integration, Putnam's concept of social capital and social networking, Allport's contact hypothesis and the hypothesis of inter-group cooperation. It also addresses the importance of volunteering in modern society and the benefit of it to the preservation of social solidarity and cohesion. In theoretical part of the thesis I also introduce legislation in the area of integration of refugees and various integration programs carried by non-profit organizations, which include help from the volunteers. The purpose of the empirical part is to explore the role of the volunteers in the process of refugee integration. I have researched the problem from both volunteer’s and refugee’s point of view. I have used qualitative research approach. Three volunteers, four refugees and an organizer of the volunteer work in the field of refugees are included in the research. Data was collected using semi-structured interview and diary entries, and analyzed by coding method. The importance of the findings lies mostly in recognizing the importance of volunteers in the process of refugee integration in society, and in refugees themselves.
