Abstract

Title:
Graphical User Interface for Embedded Systems
Abstract:
Graphical user interface is the type of interaction between user and device, in most cases device is personal computer. Today embedded systems are very powerful and requirements for them are also higher. In most advanced devices we have support to connect display natively and this allows us to have graphical representation of device on display. Most embedded systems have lack of supported memories and this brings us opportunity to design graphical user interface library for memory constraint devices. In this thesis development of graphical user interface is described, which can be driven on any embedded system as it is platform independent. Work has \textit{3} separated sections. First there is background description of graphical user interface and description of commercial products today available. It is followed by input requirements description as basic features. Second section describes hardware used for development of library and features used on some microcontrollers today for graphics. Last section talks about software development, block structure and features required for optimal execution on small systems.
