Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava optimizacijo topologije, ki jo najprej teoretično opredeli, nato pa predstavi na dveh aplikativnih primerih. Ker je v slovenskem prostoru optimizacija šibko zastopano področje, se na začetku naloga osredotoči na terminološko ustreznost slovenskih izrazov na področju optimiranja in opredeli vlogo optimizacijskega procesa oblikovanja v procesu razvoja izdelka. Predstavljena je teorija optimizacije topologije s poudarkom na SIMP metodi; algoritem metode je nadalje znotraj Tosca optimizacijskega modula in v programskem okolju Abaqus uporabljen za optimizacijo dveh statorskih plošč električnega kolesnega pogonskega motorja. Rezultat predstavljata fizična produkta – optimizirani statorski plošči. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da je SIMP metoda primerna za mehanske sisteme, saj s penetracijo gostote materialnih lastnosti kot rezultat podaja variabilno območje za doseganje optimalne oblike.

Title:Topology optimization of the stator plate of an in-wheel electric propulsion motor by using FEM and SIMP methods
Abstract:
Master thesis considers topology optimization, which is theoretically and then applicably identified. Optimization is rarely represented in Slovenian territory. Regarding this fact, terminology of optimization has been translated to Slovenian language. Furthermore, thesis incorporates identification of the role of optimum design process in product development process and presents theory of numerical optimization focusing on SIMP method. Then, the latter’s algorithm is further used for optimization of two stator plates of an in-wheel electric propulsion motor within Tosca optimization modulus and in Abaqus programming environment. Results of this process are shown in physical products of optimum structure – of two stator plates’ optimum design. It was discovered that, using SIMP as penetration of density of material properties which gives us result in term of variability of the area for achieving optimum design, the algorithm is appropriate for mechanical systems.
