Abstract
S tem namenom smo izbrane lesne ploščne kompozite (iverna plošča za pohištvene namene, konstrukcijska iverna plošča, OSB in furnirna plošča) izpostavili površinskemu delovanju vode.

Title:WOOD PANEL COMPOSITES AND EXTREME CONDITIONS
Abstract:
Use of wood based composites is often limited or criticized for their behavior in the presence of water. These criticisms are often justified by choosing the appropriate composite and proper surface treatment so the influence of water on the overall performance of the composite can be significantly improved. That is why we performed surface water absorption on selected wood based composites (plywood, particleboard, OSB and particle board for construction use). We analyzed the contact angle, surface absorption and resistance of water on surface-unprotected and protected specimens. We used melamine resin, a mixture of melamine resin and wax, and melamine resin and paraffin emulsion to protect the surface. We have found that protecting the surface can significantly improve water resistance. The best result was obtained using a mixture of melamine resin and wax. The highest resistance of water was found in plywood protected with a mixture of melamine resin and wax.
