The operation of the machines must be monitored in the manufacturing process. Sound and vibration are two signals that always appear in production, so they can be measured and used for analysis. We carried out measurements in the production cell and compared them with data provided by the device about its operation. We analysed how well the sound of the vibration signal can be used to find the operation of the machines, and we are finding that both signals can bring a lot of information. It is true, however, that depending on the case, in which environment the measurements are carried out. In the sound, there were problems of isolating our sound source from other noisy environments, while the monitoring of the vibration signal turned out to be very useful. When observing the signal of sounds in vibrations, we have the ability to observe at different time scales. When analysing the operation of the production of a cell, it turned out that the analysis of the sound signal at a time constant of minutes implies more information than the time constant of the millisecond. For vibrations, the opposite is true, since we are looking through the time scale of minutes, there are no changes, but if we observe a signal at the level of milliseconds, then we can set the individual standstill cycle.
