With the evolution of technology, websites are increasingly focusing on the needs of the individual. I have created my thesis – Website design for the Podjed dairy – with this in mind.
The dairy is a family company that produces and processes milk into dairy products. After a conversation with the company, we defined our goal – the presentation of the farm and its products. In addition, they wanted to inform people about the current events at the farm which was later implemented into the structure of the website.
In the theoretical part, the user experience and the role of the user were first researched. The research proved how much people have become dependant on smaller digital devices which are used for web browsing. It is important to understand the principle of responsive web design which is based on adapting the website to every device. After an overview of the key elements of web design, the design of the main website of the Podjed dairy began.
It began with an overview of the competitive suppliers of dairy products and with defining the content and topics. After the content, presented as information architecture, was planned out, the drafts were outlined and subsequently digitally realised. During the design, the attention was focused on the overall graphic corporate identity from which the applied colour palette was derived. The network system, navigation and buttons were designed with the help of theoretical knowledge. Furthermore, the concept of the layout of elements on different devices was emphasized.
