The aim of this thesis is to design a completely new wayfinding system for the town of Bovec, the corporate identity of which corresponds to the overall corporate identity of the Bovec locational brand. The first part of the theoretical writing describes the general information concerning the wayfinding system, the utilisation of the system and its essential characteristics. The second part contains procedural descriptions of such a system and introduces graphic elements that form this system. The practical part follows the overview of the theoretical part. The first task in the practical part is to analyse the existing state of the markings that are currently in use in Bovec. These serve as the basis for providing certain integral information which is used to design the new system. Since the goal was to design a wayfinding system on the basis of an existing corporate identity, the existing image is, therefore, thoroughly analysed. The adequacy of the given typeface and colour palette is determined. The adequacy of the typeface (Myriad pro) is performed on the basis of comparisons with the typeface Wayfinding sans, which is currently regarded as one of the best typeface used for wayfinding systems. Results show that the typefaces match in most characteristics. A test evaluation of the contrast between colours is done while analysing the colour palette. Since the results are unsuitable, the colour palette somewhat changed. The hue remains the same but the colour saturation and brightness experienced changes. The final form of the markings demands the forming of a set of symbols. These are formed on the basis of the typeface which consequently guarantees that these two elements match and are harmonised. The main characteristics are linear features with straight ends. The final result of the thesis is a wayfinding system consisting of a family of three signs, while the corporate identity of these signs corresponds to the existing corporate identity of Bovec.
