Abstract
Diplomsko delo nas nato popelje v razvoj strojne opreme in razmišljanje ob povezovanju komponent.

Title:A modular power light emitting diode controller
Abstract:
This thesis presents the process of development of the electronic circuit for controlling power light emitting diodes (LED) based on the WS2801 chip. At the beginning we get acquainted with formation of light in a semiconductor and with various direct and indirect materials. Then we examine the technology of light emitting diodes, such as its structure, spectrum and the characteristics of the loss processes. We also get acquainted with the different modes of controlling light emitting diodes, such as current source, pulse with modulation and switching regulator. Then we continue with the microcontroller design. Firstly we determine the desired specifications and then we begin with the selection of components which must meet our requirements. The main components of the microcontroller are processor ATmega328PB-au and chip FTDI FT231XS-U. After that this work leads us into the development of hardware and process of connecting different components. Then we continue with the concept of software made in Atmel Studio 7.0 programming environment and the user interface made in the NI LabVIEW environment. This is followed by the description of the program code that is executed on the microcontroller and the block diagram that is executed in the user interface of NI LabVIEW. Toward the end we present the operation of the entire device and its realization in a physical form. In the conclusion we describe the problems of circuit design and their related solutions, as well as possible improvements and guidelines for a better final product.
