Abstract
Pri testiranju zračno hlajenih kolesnih elektromotorjev na merilnem mestu je pomembno njihovo zadostno hlajenje. Namen magistrskega dela je preveriti ustreznost izbranih metod računalniške simulacije za simuliranje hlajenja elektromotorja. V magistrskem delu je predstavljena postavitev računalniškega modela, uporabljenega za simulacijo zračno hlajenja kolesnega elektromotorja, in potek izračuna simulacije. Opisana je zasnova in izvedba potrditvenega testa ter uporabljena merilna oprema. Rezultati prikazujejo temperature na površini motorja in primerjajo rezultate simulacije in potrditvenega testa. Uporabljene metode so se z manjšimi omejitvami izkazale kot ustrezne.

Title:
Cooling simulation of an in-wheel motor
Abstract:
When testing air cooled in-wheel electric motors at a measuring station sufficient cooling of electric motors is of great importance. The purpose of this thesis is checking whether the chosen methods of CFD - numerical simulation of cooling of an in-wheel motor are suitable. The models used for the numerical simulation of an air cooled in-wheel motor and the simulation setup are presented in the thesis. It also describes the procedure and performance of the validation experiment and the measuring equipment that was used. The results show the surface temperatures of the in-wheel motor. A comparison between the simulation and the experiment is made. The methods used for the simulation proved to be successful with minor restrictions.
