Abstract
V diplomski nalogi smo želeli ugotoviti, kako gibalna dejavnost vpliva na šolsko uspešnost srednješolcev oziroma mladostnikov, kako srednješolci preživljajo svoj prosti čas in kakšen odnos imajo do zdravega načina življenja. V uvodnem delu je poudarek predvsem na celostnem razvoju človeka ter vplivih gibalne dejavnosti na njegov razvoj in oblikovanje zdravega življenjskega sloga. V nadaljevanju so bili raziskani nekateri vidiki športne aktivnosti mladih v povezavi z njihovim življenjskim slogom. Pri tem je bil večji poudarek namenjen njihovemu preživljanju prostega časa, skrbi za zdravje, pojmovanju vrednot, ki lahko vplivajo na njihovo ukvarjanje z gibalnimi dejavnostmi, ter motivom, ki lahko vplivajo na preživljanje prostega časa. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 140 srednješolcev prvega, drugega, tretjega in četrtega letnika Srednje šole Črnomelj splošne gimnazije. Njihovo gibalno dejavnost v povezavi s šolsko uspešnostjo smo ugotavljali s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika. Rezultati, ki smo jih pridobili, so bili obdelani s pomočjo računalniškega programa za statistično obdelavo podatkov SPPS. Ugotovili smo, da gibalna dejavnost nima poglavitnega vpliva na šolsko uspešnost srednješolcev. Kljub temu da to ni najpogostejša dejavnost, ki jo izvajajo v prostem času, pa predstavlja pomemben del njihovega življenjskega sloga, saj je večina mladih v prostem času kar pogosto gibalno dejavnih. Prišli smo do ugotovitve, da se mladostniki, ki so športno aktivnejši, bolj zavedajo pomena redne gibalne dejavnosti, kar se odraža tudi v njihovih vrednotah in skrbi za lastno zdravje. Z raziskavo smo tudi ugotovili, da med fanti in dekleti obstajajo razlike v ukvarjanju z gibalnimi dejavnostmi ter da se fantje pogosteje ukvarjajo z gibalnimi dejavnostmi kot dekleta.

Title:
Physical activity of the Črnomelj Grammar School students in relation to academic success
Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to discover the influence of physical activity on grammar school students' academic success. Key is to learn how grammar school students spend their free time and to understand what their attitudes are regarding a healthy lifestyle. The introductory section emphasizes the broad development of man as well as the influences of physical activity on his/her development and the formation of a healthy lifestyle. Presented also is the research of some aspects of the physical activity of the youth in relation to their lifestyle. The focus is to examine their free time habits, their health concerns, their understanding of the values which can influence their involvement in physical activities and the motivations influencing how they utilize their free time. 140 students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of the general grammar school programme at the Črnomelj high school participated in the survey. The amount of their physical activity in relation to their academic success was compiled from survey questionnaires. A statistical data analysis SPPS computer program analyzed the completed surveys. The analysis confirms that physical activity does not have a major influence on the academic success of grammar school students. It also reveals the fact that physical activity was not the students' most common spare time pursuit, but nevertheless it is an important part of their lifestyle because most young people are quite often physically active in their free time. The conclusions to be drawn from the study are the following: those young people who are more physically active have increased awareness of the importance of regular physical activity and they have increased values and concerns for their own health. The study establishes that in this group there are differences between boys and girls regarding their involvement in physical activities and that the boys engage in physical activities more often than the girls.
