Purpose of the following thesis was to find the opinion about school in nature, to determine content, year of education and what percentage of students participated when they were enrolled in primary and secondary school. One of the questions covered financial side of this form of education, specifically ability of parent's financial coverage. Students were also asked about disadvantages and advantages of this form of education, since they are the next potential working force in school system and their feedback information is reliable enought to give us relevant insight into this topic.
The sample included 145 students enrolled in the Grade-2 and Grade-3 of the program Physical Education and Kinesiology in school year 2016/17. Answers were obtained through online survey, supported by software 1ka.
Results are showing that the most common types of school in nature in primary school were winter (alpine or nordic skiing) and swimming school in nature, while at high school the most common type was sports week. Primary schools have had organized school in nature in Grade-4 and Grade-5, while secondary school in Grade-2. Participation rate in schools in nature was lower in secondary school. The most common non-participation rate was due to the lack of finances. Faculty of sport students' reported that the costs connected to school in nature were not too high and that they didn't know that their schoolmates were not participating because of the financial troubles.
Students reported that they liked the most the social component of school in nature, environment and learning about different parts of Slovenia. The highest mark was given to the quality of swimming and skiing programmes. Overall grade of school in nature was marked with grade very good (4).
