Abstract

Title:A comparative analysis of manufacturing metal based products on the principle of additive technologies
Abstract:
In the final thesis I present various processes of additive manufacturing technologies for the direct acquisition of real objects, constructed on the basis of a computer-based three-dimensional model. Manufacturing of metal products with the additive methods is expensive, and the Faculty of mechanical engineering – Laboratory for machining, developed a method called combined processing, where welding and machining is used in manufacturing a product, which represents an alternative solution for the production of the product. From the collected data of the existing literature on the topic of additive manufacturing and the examination of the market of companies that provide parts on demand made by additive manufacturing, I made comparative analysis. I compared combined processing with additive manufacturing and found that in the existing marker the process of combined processing has the potential to be competitive. By optimizing the process, the cost of manufacturing the product would be reduced; however accuracy and precision should be improved. The advantage of the process is in a large building volume and low initial investment.
