Abstract

Title:
Microbial products for use in cosmetics
Abstract:
In cosmetic industry, there is a constant progress, innovations and improvements, since people are increasingly paying attention to the composition of products they use in everyday life. Therefore, there is an increase in use of cosmetic products with natural origin of numerous sources. In this thesis, cosmetic products including active components from microbial sources are presented. This connects cosmetic industry with modern biotechnology processes. The advantage of microbial production is the rapid production of products, easy cultivation of microorganisms and greater ability to adapt the process by changing bioprocess parameters. On the other hand in the case of isolation from tissues, longer period of time for the organism to synthesize product is required and we have less impact on the process. Therefore, the future is not only shown in the production of active compounds in microorganisms, which naturally produce them, but with knowledge of biosynthetic pathways of those compounds recombinant production is increasingly being used.
