Vpliv vrste robnih trakov in lepila na kakovost robnega lepljenja

Abstract
Z uporabo robnih trakov različnih debelin in barv ter dvema vrstama lepil smo proučevali trdnost lepilnih spojev med iverno ploščo in robnim trakom na preizkušancih, ki so bili izpostavljeni visokim temperaturam. Obloženo iverno ploščo smo oblepili z robnimi trakovi debeline 1 in 2 milimetra. Za lepljenje smo uporabili etilen vinil acetatno (EVA) in poliuretansko (PUR) lepilo proizvajalca Jowatherm. Pri obeh vrstah lepil smo uporabili enake parametre lepljenja. Preizkušance iz iverne plošče smo obtežili z 200-gramskimi utežmi in jih v laboratorijskem sušilniku izpostavili vedno višjim temperaturam, dokler lepilni spoj ni popustil. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da je čas utrjevanja lepila pomemben dejavnik, ki pri EVA lepilu znaša 3 dni, pri PUR lepilu pa 5 dni. Ugotovili smo, da lepilo PUR zdrži veliko višje temperaturne obremenitve kot lepilo EVA, saj so vsi preizkušanci, lepljeni z lepilom PUR, zdržali toplotno obremenitev 100 °C. Iz naše raziskave lahko sklepamo, da debelina, barva in vrsta robnega traku nimajo bistvenega vpliva na trdnost lepilnih spojev. EVA lepila so najpogosteje uporabljena lepila v pohištveni industriji, k čemer zagotovo pripomore nižja cena in krajši reakcijski čas utrjevanja lepila. Za lepilne spoje, ki so kasneje izpostavljeni višjim temperaturam in višji zračni vlažnosti, je priporočljiva uporaba PUR lepila.

Title:EVALUATION OF EDGE-BANDING TAPES AND ADHESIVES ON QUALITY OF EDGE BONDING
Abstract:
Using different thicknesses, different colours of edge-banding tapes, and two types of adhesives, we studied the quality of adhesive bonding exposed to high temperatures. For bonding laminated chipboards with edge-banding tapes (thicknesses of 1 and 2 mm), we used ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyurethane (PUR) adhesives from the manufacturer Jowatherm. For both types of adhesives, the same parameters for bonding were used. The samples were loaded with 200-gram weight and exposed to high temperatures until the adhesive bond loosened. The results showed that the reaction time of the adhesive is a crucial factor: 3 days for EVA adhesive and 5 days for PUR adhesive. The increasing temperature showed that the PUR adhesive could specimens bonded with PUR adhesive withstood a heat load of 100 ºC. From our research, we can conclude that the thickness, colour, and type of edge-banding tapes do not affect the strength of adhesive joints. EVA adhesives are the most commonly used adhesives in the furniture industry, due to their low price and shorter reaction times. For adhesive joints that are later exposed to higher temperatures and a higher level of relative humidity, using PUR adhesive is advisable.
