Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava vprašanje ustreznosti terapije s pomočjo konja kot socialno pedagoške metode dela z otroki in mladostniki s čustvenimi in vedenjskimi težavami. Ta problematika je danes naraščajoč pojav med mladostniki, kar pa socialno pedagoško stroko kliče k iskanju novih, otrokom in mladostnikom prilagojenih metod dela. V tujini obravnavano metodo že več let uspešno uporabljajo kot dopolnilno in samostojno obravnavo na pedagoškem področju, pri nas pa se v te namene počasi uveljavlja šele v zadnjih desetih letih. V teoretičnem delu so najprej predstavljene različne opredelitve in klasifikacije čustvenih in vedenjskih težav ter podane glavne smernice za delo s to populacijo. V nadaljevanju se delo osredotoči na terapijo in aktivnosti s pomočjo konja, kjer se podrobneje posveti zvrsti, ki se nanaša na pedagoško področje. V empiričnem delu se je s pomočjo kvalitativne raziskave, v katero je bilo vključenih pet strokovnjakinj s področja terapevtskega dela s konji, želelo ugotoviti ali je obravnavana metoda dela ustrezna za socialno pedagoško delo s populacijo otrok in mladostnikov s čustvenimi in vedenjskimi težavami. Raziskava se je osredotočila na vprašanja o najustreznejših oblikah dela za omenjeno skupino, pozitivnih učinkih in ciljih, ki se z njimi lahko dosegajo, ugotavljala pa je tudi, kako se otroci in mladostniki s čustvenimi in vedenjskimi težavami odzivajo v stiku s konjem ter ali obstajajo možne omejitve za izvedbo dejavnosti. Rezultati so pokazali, da je pedagoško-terapevtsko jahanje/voltižiranje najprimernejša zvrst terapije s pomočjo konja za populacijo otrok in mladostnikov s čustvenimi in vedenjskimi težavami ter s številnih vidikov zelo ustrezna kot socialno pedagoška metoda. Ob upoštevanju določenih pogojev, omogoča številne kognitivne in socialne učinke, terapijo pa je mogoče prilagoditi posamezniku in vsem želenim ciljem. Delo se zaključuje s spoznanjem, da obstajajo nekateri primeri, v katerih so omejitve za uporabo obravnavane metode dela, vendar pa so v praksi precej redki. Se pa težave nahajajo predvsem v trenutnih razmerah v slovenskem prostoru, za katere pa se podaja tudi nekaj možnih rešitev.

Title:Equine-assisted social pedagogical work with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural problems
Abstract:
The thesis looks at the adequacy of using equine-assisted therapy (EAT) as a social-pedagogical method of working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural problems. Due to the growth in numbers of children with these issues in recent years, social pedagogy discipline ought to look for new and more diverse methods that could help them better (and try to adjust them to the individual's needs). The EAT has been successfully used abroad as a sole or additional form of treatment in social pedagogy for many years, but has only started to be implemented here in Slovenia in the last decade. The theoretical part first presents different definitions and classifications of emotional and behavioural problems and cites the main approaches to dealing with them. Then it focuses on the role of equine-assisted therapy, with the emphasis on the form that is based on pedagogy. In the empirical part was used the qualitative research method, to look at the adequacy of this kind of therapy for social pedagogical work with people who have emotional and behavioural problems. In order to achieve this were involved five professionals from the equine-assisted therapy field. The research was focused on the questions of the most suitable methods used to treat individuals, the positive effects of these methods and the goals that can be achieved with their implementation; it was also interested in how these people react to the EAT and if there are any possible limitations to be aware of. It was found that the most suitable kind of EAT for people with emotional and behavioural problems is educational and remedial riding. It is a very adequate social-pedagogical method from various view-points. Following certain protocols it offers several cognitive and social benefits. The therapy can also be adjusted to each individual and to specific goals. The empirical findings conclude that there are some cases in which the therapy has very limited effects, but they are rather rare. However, the problem mostly lies with the current situation of EAT in Slovenia for which the thesis states a few possible solutions.
