The article deals with some aspects of mechanized logging implementation. Data about mechanized logging, equipment with mechanization, and production scope are shown. These data are followed by the presentation of some advantages and disadvantages of mechanized logging implementation. Extra emphasis is laid on the impact of mechanized logging on forest soils, consequences on stand regeneration, and system of balancing the impact on forest soils, where individual measures and their effect are described. The article ends with the discussion about the system for ensuring quality of forest operation using mechanized logging.
