Abstract
V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela sem sprva izpostavila vzroke in posledice spreminjanja kapitalistične družbe v sodobno družbo tveganja.

Title:Schools as the center of community
Abstract:
In theoretical part of dissertation I have pointed out what causes and effects of changing of capitalistic society into modern society of risks have. Main characteristic of such society are classless arrangement, individualism, wage work problem, changing of employment system and increase of differences in society status which is or can be an effect of modernizing and automating in industry. I have also presented some laws which coordinate Slovenian educational program and I have pointed out their pluses and minuses and suggested eventual improvements taken from governments abroad. In my theoretical part I have also described Community centers from USA and UK, their organization and activities. I have also presented a project called Little Free Library which started in USA and spread throughout the world. I have concluded my theoretical part with presentation of a project called Time bank of Slovenia, with which I wanted to endorse other people to solve problems in society with introducing new and creative projects. In the end, presented projects are not the only projects with which we can improve our social relations, smooth out or eliminate problems of modern life, create new intergenerational bonds and better connect individuals and institutions into local community. I have chosen these projects because I think that we have the ability of organizing them in Slovenia as project Time bank of Slovenia shows us. In my empirical part I will present the results of three interviews based on my dissertation title which I have done with staff from elementary school Vič in Ljubljana. I will also present opinions taken from my colleagues regarding of including schools into local community, about second hand items, their willingness to participate in solidarity projects, connecting other people, regardless of age and social status, and groups with schools.
