Abstract
V diplomski nalogi sem proučil ameriško javno šolstvo ter potem tudi vplive šolskih politik na ameriško javno šolstvo. Želel sem predvsem ugotoviti, kako so sprejete šolske politike vplivale na vpis v javne šole in na vključevanje marginalnih skupin v javno šolstvo. Z analizo primarnih in sekundarnih virov sem interpretiral šolske politike ter ugotavljal posledice izvajanja šolskih politik. Potem ko sem s pomočjo zgodovinske metode proučil ključne šolske politike, sem s pomočjo uradnih podatkov o vpisu v javne šole ter s primerjavo statističnih podatkov o šolanju marginalnih skupin poskušal sklepati, zakaj je do takšnih rezultatov prišlo. Ugotovimo lahko, da je v ZDA v zadnjih letih na področju izobraževanja poudarek na izobraževanju marginalnih skupin ter zagotavljanju enakih možnosti do izobraževanja. Kljub postopnemu vključevanju marginalnih skupin so želeli javno šolstvo ohraniti privlačno tudi prevladujočemu belskemu prebivalstvu. Ker gre za zelo obširno tematiko, sem se osredotočil na najpomembnejše šolske politike in na šolanje največjih marginalnih skupin v ZDA. Ugotovitve, zapisane v delu, so lahko osnova pri ugotavljanju stanja v ameriškem javnem šolstvu ter lahko služijo kot izhodišče za nadaljnje raziskovanje.

Title:POLICIES OF PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM IN THE USA
Abstract:
In my thesis I examined the American public school system, later also the influences of school policies on the American public school system. I wanted primarily to figure out, how passed school policies influenced on public school enrollment and on the integration of marginalized groups into public education. With an analysis of primary and secondary sources I interpreted school policies and figured out consequences of the implementation of these school policies. After I had examined the key school policies with the use of historical method, I compared official statistical data about public school enrollment and about schooling of marginalized groups and tried to conclude, why these results appeared. We can figure out that in the last years in the USA in the education area there is an emphasis on education of the marginalized groups and ensuring equal access to education. Despite gradual integration of the marginalized groups they wanted to keep the public education attractive for dominant white population. As the topic is very broad, I stayed focused on the most important school policies and on schooling of the biggest marginalized groups in the USA. Findings, which are written in the thesis, can be a basis for identifying the situation in American public education. Findings can also be used as a starting point for further researches.
