Abstract

Title:Fulfillment of obligations from the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women in Arab World
Abstract:
Even though we live in the 21st century, women are not equal to men. Their human rights and freedoms are still denied, in many countries are also severely repressed. The problem is that we do not pay as much attention as we should. This is especially true for countries where the situation regarding women is the worst . Women have been taught from an early age about their position in society, therefore it is not surprising that as adults they perceive their subordinate position as something normal. Even if it means losing their dignity. Many Arab women therefore do not see any reason to fight for their rights and freedoms belonging to them, but rather reconcile to the situation. I believe is that discrimination against women cannot be eliminated only by legal acts, but this can largely be achieved by the society itself. It is important to change attitude towards women and the typical notion about their potential. I will try to confirm my thinking with the opinions of experts in the field of human and women’s rights.
