Abstract

Title:IMPACT OF CRISIS ON SOCIAL SECURITY IN SLOVENIA WITH COMPARISON TO UNITED KINGDOM
Abstract:
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to understand the causal connection between the global economic and financial crisis and conditions of social security in last few years. I tried to represent the dimension of crisis' impact on extent of social security in Slovenia with comparison to United Kingdom. Through this comparison I tried to highlight similarities and diversities of these two systems of social security. I also represented the role of EU in solving given social conditions. The aim of this diploma thesis is to examine as many domestic and foreign sources on choosen topic as possible and to find out similarities and differencies between choosen countries. The aim is also to represent diverse impacts of the global economic and financial crisis on economic and social cicumstances, with emphasis on social security sistems. The main aim is to confirm or to reject the hypothesis put in this diploma thesis' disposition. Despite membership of Slovenia and United Kingdom in EU, the social security sistems of theese two countries are diverse. United Kingdom recovered from crissis' conseqences in shorter period of time, while Slovenia was experiencing recession for few years. After comparison of economic and social indicators in each country, I came to the conclusion, that in Slovenia social security was more threatened due to the crissis than in United Kingdom. Nevertheless, Slovenia provides higher level of social security than United Kingdom.
