Abstract
Predstavljeni so optoelektrični moduli Smart SFP. Sledi opis merilne sonde in poteka meritev s sistemom Smart SLA. Sledi še sklep, v katerem strnemo svoja dognanja.

Title:Service level measurements in business internet networks
Abstract:
This master’s dissertation focuses on a system for monitoring service-level agreement (SLA) parameters, which should be previously agreed upon between the client and service provider. More and more subscribers are trying to persuade, or to ensure the quality of such services as ordered and paid for. As a result, service providers must begin to monitor the quality of services to the user at any time to show or demonstrate level of service they provide. The first chapter contains an explanation of service-level agreements (SLA). There are also portrayed parameters that are being monitored through Smart SLA system. Next chapter focuses on OAM and standards the system was built on. We describe IEEE 802.3ah, IEEE 802.1ag and Y.1731 standards being used on the second layer of ISO OSI model. We finish the chapter with a description of RFC 5357 TWAMP standard, which is being used on the third level of ISO OSI model. Following is a third chapter that describes demands for measuring system SLA parameters. Afterwards we explicate and compare tools on the market. Next comes description of procedures that were used at performing measurments of SLA parameters. We represent Smart SFP optoelectronic modules. Then we describe measurement probe and procedure of measuring using Smart SLA. The last, fourth, chapter represents the practical part of this dissertation. It presents an example of demands on which measurments were based on and depicts how measurements are carried out. We start by describing the measuring process and follow with sample measurements, carried out on the testing ground. Finally, we compare results of measurements using different technologies. At the end there is a conclusion in which we sum up our discoveries.
