Abstract
Z diplomsko nalogo sem želel na jasen in pregleden način predstaviti naprave za brezprekinitveno napajanje porabnikov. Pojasnil sem, zakaj potrebujemo naprave za brezprekinitveno napajanje in katere naprave so na trgu na voljo. Poglobil sem se v različne tipe naprav, razlike v njihovem delovanju in v stopnji zaščite, ki jo ponujajo. Podrobno sem opisal režime obratovanja naprav za brezprekinitveno napajanje, njihove sestavne dele in s testiranjem teh naprav nazorno prikazal njihovo delovanje. Predstavil sem stikalne manevre, ki jih lahko pri teh napravah izvajamo, in nevarnosti, ki pri nepravilnem ravnanju lahko nastopijo. V nadaljevanju sem opisal postopek izračuna avtonomije akumulatorjev, različne vrste testiranja stanja akumulatorja in priporočila za vzdrževanje naprave. Cilj diplomske naloge je bil seznaniti bralca o uporabi sistemov za brezprekinitveno napajanje. S testiranjem različnih tipov naprav sem želel prikazati prednosti in slabosti različnih tehnologij delovanja naprav in tako podati ključne informacije za pravilno izbiro tipa naprave za določene porabnike.

Title:Uninterruptable power supplies
Abstract:
In my diploma I wanted to present devices for uninterruptable power supply in a transparent way. I have explained why we need uninterruptable power supplies and described different types that are available on the market. I took a closer look in various types of devices, their differences in performance and the level of protection which they offer. I have described the operation modes of uninterruptable power supplies and their components. With tests of these devices I have successfully demonstrated their operation. I have described switching maneuvers that can be performed with these devices, and the danger in case of inaccurate handling. I have also illustrated the process of calculating the autonomy of the batteries, different ways for testing the battery status and maintenance recommendations. The aim of this diploma was to inform the reader about the application of uninterruptable power supplies. By testing different types of devices I have demonstrated advantages and disadvantages of different technologies used in devices. I have also presented key information for a proper selection of the device type for a certain use.
