Abstract

Title:Field analysis of thermal bridges with IR camera and assessment of their influence on the building energy consumption
Abstract:
The thesis consists of field evaluation of thermal bridges on real buildings with the help of IR camera. For this purpose we made a catalog of thermal bridges which is based on the standard SIST EN ISO 14683 and completed with the IR pictures of realistic thermal bridges. In the second part of the thesis we calculated the influence of thermal bridges on the energy consumption of our chosen building. The chosen building is modern family house located in Ljubljana. Energy consumption was calculated on three different ways regarding thermal bridges. The first calculation was in accordance with Slovenian technical building guide (TSG-01-004-3.1.2). The second calculation was based on the standard SIST EN ISO 14683 with the difference that no thermal bridge was included. The last calculation was basically no different than the second one except that all the thermal bridges that are possible on the building were included. The final result was a conclusion that it is really important which method is used in calculating the buildings energy consumption. First and second calculation showed only a small difference in the results. However results of the third calculation were very different from the first two, supporting our conclusion.
