The thesis The influence of parents on the life and work of kindergarten is composed of two parts: the theoretical and the empirical. In the first, the theoretical one, we have described the family, the kinds and types of families, educational styles of individual families as well the child within the family. This was followed by families and kindergarten, the kindergarten as an institution and the involvement of families in the life of the kindergarten. We have mentioned the objectives of education in the kindergarten and the document The national kindergarten curriculum, which determines how a kindergarten works. Great emphasis was given to the importance of cooperation with parents and to the great contribution of positive relationships between educators and parents. We have also presented the objectives and principles of cooperation with parents as well as cooperation forms between the kindergarten, the educators and parents, and vice versa. In the empirical part of the thesis we have presented the results of a research gained via a questionnaire. The study has examined the impact and satisfaction of parents on the progress of activities in the Krško kindergarten. Above all, we wanted to know how, in what way and to what extent parents are involved in or are willing to cooperate with kindergartens, and whether they are satisfied with the activities at the group level and the kindergarten in general. We have examined who cooperates with the kindergartens most often and whether they are given enough info about kindergarten work. Do parents feel that cooperation with kindergartens benefits their child? We have also been interested in whether parents are satisfied with the professionalism and responsiveness of educators in terms in delivering information regarding their child. The results of the research have shown us that the majority of parents are willing to cooperate with kindergartens, with mothers prevailing here. We have found that most parents feel informed enough by the kindergarten about its work and that they are satisfied with the professionalism and responsiveness of educators in terms in delivering information regarding their child. Most parents think that cooperation with the kindergarten benefits their child, so employees in the kindergarten enjoy a high level of trust.
