Abstract
V svojem diplomskem delu sem na začetku opisala kratek življenjepis Marie Montessori in njen rahločuten pogled in spoštljiv odnos do otrok, ki se kaže v njenem vzgojnem konceptu. Predstavila sem postopke dela z montessori materiali za področje aritmetike. Povzela sem tudi učni načrt prvega razreda montessori osnovne šole in javne osnovne šole pri predmetu matematika za področje aritmetike. Dotaknila sem se zgodnjega učenja matematike, ki temelji na igri in omogoča otroku lahkotno osvajanje in razumevanje učnih vsebin. V praktičnem delu diplomskega dela sem analizirala razumevanje osnovnih matematičnih pojmov aritmetike pri učencih prvega razreda, kjer uporabljajo kot dopolnilo učnega procesa montessori materiale, in v razredu, kjer montessori materialov ne uporabljajo. Pri raziskavi me je zanimalo, ali dani element vpliva na uspešnost reševanja delovnih listov, s katerimi skozi oblikovane naloge preverjam razumevanje osnovnih matematičnih pojmov.

Title:Learning basic mathematical concepts with montessori educational methods
Abstract:
This thesis first provides a brief biography of Maria Montessori and touches on her delicate views and respectful attitude towards children. Those characteristics are also reflected in her educational concept. Moreover, it discusses the work with Montessori materials in arithmetic and summarizes the mathematics curriculum, especially the area of arithmetic, for the first grade of Montessori primary school. It touches on early mathematics, which revolves around play so children can grasp and understand learning content more effortlessly. As for the practical part of the thesis, it analyses the level of understanding of arithmetic-related notions among first grade pupils who use Montessori materials during lessons to complement the learning process and among first grade pupils who do not use Montessori materials. The main question is whether materials have an impact on the children's success in completing worksheets. The aim of the tasks is to assess the understanding of basic mathematical notions.
