Abstract
Biti učitelj je zahtevna in odgovorna naloga. Učitelji želijo ustreči željam učencev, hkrati pa vedo, da jim morajo biti zgled in avtoriteta ter morajo zato tudi postaviti meje njihovim zahtevam in vedenju. Učitelji in ostali strokovni delavci se zaradi tega pogosto sprašujejo, kako najti ravnotežje med permisivnostjo in strogostjo. Cilj magistrskega dela je raziskati, kako učitelji in učenci dojemajo avtoriteto ter kaj vse vpliva na vzpostavljanje in vzdrževanje avtoritete. Raziskala bom tudi, katere lastnosti ima učitelj, ki ima vzpostavljeno avtoriteto. Namen empiričnega dela je usmeritev v razmislek o razlikah, ki se pojavljajo v dojemanju avtoritete med učencem in učiteljem. Nemalo učiteljev se v razredu spopada z disciplinskimi težavami učencev, te pa izvirajo iz pomanjkanja avtoritete. Avtoriteta pomeni moč in je tista, ki učitelju omogoča, da mu učenci prepustijo vodenje. Učenčeva podelitev moči učitelju pa je odvisna od več dejavnikov, ki se med seboj prepletajo. V empiričnem delu naloge je opisano in ovrednoteno, kakšno mnenje imajo učenci in učitelji o samem pojmu avtoriteta in kaj vpliva na vzpostavljanje ter vzdrževanje avtoritete. Namen raziskave je predstaviti odgovore na anketna vprašalnika in izvedeti, kakšno mnenje o učiteljevi avtoriteti imajo učitelji in učenci, ki obiskujejo osnovne šole v Celju in okolici. Vzorca sta dva – enega predstavljajo učenci 7., 8. in 9. razredov, drugega pa njihovi učitelji. Skupno je bilo razdeljenih 350 anonimnih vprašalnikov, od tega jih je bilo v raziskavo vključenih 275. Instrument predstavljata dva anketna vprašalnika. Podatki so obdelani s pomočjo statističnega računalniškega programa SPSS. Pomen pričakovanih ugotovitev je povzeti smernice in nasvete za učitelje, kako si lahko pomagajo pri vzpostavljanju in vzdrževanju avtoritete v razredu.

Title:Teachers authority through the eyes of students and teachers
Abstract:
Being a teacher is a very demanding and responsible job. Teachers want to meet all students' requests but at the same time they know they must be role models and authorities. Consequently, they must place a limit on students’ requests and behaviour. Teachers and the rest of the professional workers are wondering how to find balance between permissiveness and strictness. The aim of my thesis is to research how teachers and students understand authority and also what influences on establishing and maintaining authority. I am also going to research what are the characteristics of the teacher who has established the authority. The main purpose of the empirical part is to lead to think about the differences how authority among a teacher and a student is understood. Considerable number of teachers is dealing with discipline problems that originate from lack of authority. Authority means power and is the one that enables the teacher that the classroom management is left to him/her by the students. Many factors which are intertwined influence student’s giving power to a teacher. In the empirical part of my thesis it is described and evaluated what is the opinion of the students and teachers about the meaning of authority and what influences on establishing and maintaining authority. The purpose of my research is to present the answers to the questionnaire and to find out what is the students’ and teachers’ opinion about authority in primary schools in Celje and in the vicinity of Celje. There are two samples – one is presented by the students of the 7th, 8th and 9th grades, and the other one is presented by their teachers. Three hundred and fifty anonymous questionnaires were distributed. Two hundred and seventy-five of them were included in research. The instrument is presented by two questionnaires. The data were processed by the statistical computer programme SPSS. The purpose of expected findings is to sum up the guidelines and advice for teachers how to help themselves with the establishment and maintenance of authority in the classroom.
