Abstract
Čebelarjenje pomeni v življenju odraslih oseb z motnjami v duševnem razvoju zaposlitveno, učno in prostočasno dejavnost, zato smo v teoretičnem uvodu opisali, kakšno vlogo in pomen imajo zanje delo (zaposlitev), vseživljenjsko učenje in prosti čas.

Title:
Beekeeping in the Social welfare center Črnomelj
Abstract:
The purpose of the thesis was to present the Beekeeping Club in the Social welfare center Črnomelj and its members with mental disabilities under the supervision of the Beekeepers Association Črnomelj, with the intent to determine the level of independence of persons with mental disabilities in the performance of beekeeping tasks. Beekeeping in the life of adults with mental disabilities becomes an employment, a learning and leisure activity. Therefore, the role and importance of a work (job), lifelong learning and leisure to these individuals is described in the theoretical introduction. Since one of the purposes of the Beekeeping Club is to raise the quality of life of people with mental disabilities, some attention to this topic has been included in the paper. A section about beekeeping is also included: how it changed through history, its development milestones and the situation in Slovenia today. It also contains two examples of good practice, which bring beekeeping among vulnerable groups of people; like persons with mental disabilities. The empirical part consists of a survey among members of the Beekeeping Club and their mentors. The results showed that at the presence of the mentor they can carry out the majority of beekeeping tasks. Four members feel that they can independently do more than half of the work, and three feel they are independent in little less than half of the beekeeping tasks. The mentor believes they are more independent in the performing of the beekeeping tasks as they are.
