The intention of our research was to study the flatness of feet from pupils who are from first three classes of elementary school and they attended school as four different generations. In our research we focused on the difference in flat feet of each generation. At the same time we researched the difference in flatness depending on gender, age, class and left and right foot. 327 pupils from elementary school Pirniče were involved in our research; there were four different generations of them: 1983, 1998, 2011 and 2016.
By means of Clark’s method we calculated angles and entered the results into the Excel worksheet. We also analysed the results with statistical programme SPSS. We used basic statistical operations, frequencies and relative frequencies. The test of chi-square and the variance analysis helped us for describing the difference between genders, classes, left and right foot and, after all the difference between pupils of each generation.
We came to conclusion that the percentage of flat feet is growing in parallel with time. We also concluded that girls have better feet, the right foot is better than the left and that the phenomenon of flatness is decreasing with age.
