The topic of the diploma thesis is folk movement and merry-making activities and their application in the kindergarten Ciciban Novo mesto.
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes activities in relation to child's development, history of movement and merry-making activities, different folk movement and merry-making activities and importance of their use in a kindergarten.
Empirical part of the thesis tackles the question whether childcare workers are acquainted with such activities, whether they include them in their programmes and how they integrate them in the schemata and how children react to them. The research showed that childcare workers are acquainted with the activities and that incorporation of the activities is either planned or unplanned.
Folk movement and merry-making activities are simple, interesting, fun and children love to participate in them. In addition, they help in developing child's physical development, aid in the improvement of child's socialization and physical activity.
