Abstract

Title:A systemic approach to behavioural difficulties in primary school
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the systemic approach to behavioural difficulties in primary school. A child or an adolescent with behavioural difficulties comes in contradiction with the entire social environment. The systemic approach is a suitable way of approaching behavioural difficulties because it is directed towards creating quality interactions between the child and the environment, which an individual necessarily needs to satisfy fundamental psychosocial needs for safety, acceptance and validation. The systemic approach is very much in line with the paradigm of social pedagogical practice. Important systems which influence the development of behavioural difficulties are family and school. School can be a risk or a protective factor for the development of behavioural difficulties. For the empirical part of this thesis I carried out a qualitative research: I conducted semi-structured interviews with four counsellors from different primary schools in Slovenia. The focus of my research was their understanding and functioning in the area of behavioural difficulties.
