Abstract

Title:Electronic photovoltaic pyranometer with implemented MODBUS protocol on RS485 bus
Abstract:
In the scope of the thesis a solar irradiation sensor (called pyranometer) with the use of photovoltaic solar cell as a detector of irradiation and integrated electronics in the sensor for processing and transfering measuring signals to the remote unit was developed. Hardware and software of this device were developed for this purpose. Hardware provides sensor external power supply, provides analog data about temperature and solar irradiation to the cell, central processing unit and communication part for communication with external unit. Software processes input analog data and implements the protocol Modbus® for data transfer to the remote control system with the use of communication RS485. The advantage of the sensor is that measuring results are digitalized directly on the photovoltaic cell and are transferred by the RS485 communication to the central control system by using industrial and internationally acknowledged protocole MODBUS®.
