Abstract
The thesis presents a system for analyzing smart home parameters. While designing HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) solutions for residential and commercial buildings a comfortable and healthy indoor environment are a fundamental requirement being at the same time energy efficient.
Various smart devices used are communicating with many interfaces and protocols. Some of them need local controller or PC hardware while others connect to IoT cloud, being accessed by using smartphone and tablet.
We have documented M2M interfaces to access devices for data exchange. Using open source hardware like Raspberry Pi and Arduino development platform we have designed a system which integrates existing data paths and additional monitoring devices connected over USB hub and local network.
The prototype is using openHAB runtime and MQTT messaging protocol to collect and analyse data and control different bus systems into "Intranet of Things", illustrating the importance of security without DSL and cloud services.
