Abstract
Ovčja volna je starodavni material izjemnih naravnih lastnosti in ima kar nekaj prednosti pred umetnimi materiali, ki so danes zelo razširjeni, vpliv na okolje pa obremenjujoč. Tudi zato je poznavanje volne v vrtcih izrednega pomena, da otroci razvijajo zdrav odnos do narave in okolja, hkrati pa lahko izdelajo številne uporabne izdelke, ki jim omogoča tehnologija volne. Ker je uporabnost volne zelo široka, menimo, da je za otroke zelo pomembno, da spoznajo osnove pridobivanja volne in tehnološke postopke volne že v vrtcu. Glavni namen naše diplomske naloge je predstaviti predloge za raznoliko oblikovanje iz ovčje volne in motivacijo za uporabo tega materiala v vrtcih. Problem vidimo predvsem v nepoznavanju možnosti in načina uporabe volne. V prvih poglavjih teoretičnega dela smo predstavili načine njene predelave in obdelave, sledi predstavitev tehnike in tehnologije postopkov dela z volno, kot jih lahko uporabimo v vrtcu. Opisali smo tudi izhodišča otrokovega razvoja in igre. Pokazali smo, da tehnika in tehnologija omogočata otrokom aktivno udejstvovanje v delovnem in ustvarjalnem procesu, kar je pomembno pri vzgoji današnjih generacij. Nadalje smo v nalogi predstavili vpetost tehnike in tehnologije v kurikulum, ki predstavlja smernice vzgojnega programa v vrtcu. V anketi smo raziskovali razširjenost uporabe ovčje volne v vrtcih. Opaziti je razlike med javnimi in zasebnimi vrtci, tako v rabi volne, materiala za ustvarjanje, kot tudi slabo poznavanje tehnoloških postopkov obdelave in rabe izdelkov iz volne. Skupaj z otroki smo v vrtcu izvedli štiri tehnološke postopke obdelave volne. Suho polstenje so spoznali preko dejavnosti izdelave metuljev, namenjenih za igro. Izkazali so velik interes za nadaljevanje dejavnosti, zato smo dejavnost razširili še na suho polstenje broške, ki zajema tudi filcanje z iglo. Ko so otroci usvojili rokovanje z volno v traku, so lahko samostojno izdelali izdelek. Pomoč je bila nujna pri mlajših otrocih pri vezanju metuljčka in pri filcanju z iglo. Mokro polstenje se je izkazalo kot najljubša dejavnost z volno. Otroci so samostojno izdelali izdelek (polsteno risbo), ob vzgojiteljičinem vodenju skozi faze mokrega polstenja. Vsi izdelki so bili kvalitetno izdelani. Otroci so opazili tu in tam prosojne dele in jih sami povezali s pretankim nanosom volne v osnovni plasti. Tkanje se je izkazalo kot najdolgotrajnejša dejavnost. Starejši otroci pri tkanju niso imeli težav. Sami so opazili, če volnena preja ni bila pravilno vodena med pokončnimi paličicami in napako sami popravili. Nekaj pomoči so potrebovali ob snemanju nasnutka s palic. Mlajši otroci še ne zmorejo tkati. Tkejo po svoje sem in tja. Njim je bolj zanimiv sam proces kot pa izdelek. S šivanjem volnenega filca so se otroci prvič srečali pri izdelovanju torbice iz tkanja. Prišili so volneno podlogo. Celega postopka izdelave igrače (šivanje palčka) so se lotili sami. Šivanje jim ni delalo težav, prav tako se nihče od njih ni zbodel. Potrebovali so le miren prostor za izvajanje aktivnosti. Aktivnost je bila izvedena s starejšimi otroki. Vsem je uspelo izrezati in zašiti palčka. Ob polnjenju z volno se je pokazal še en izziv: kako napolniti palčka, da bo stal pokončno. Tudi tukaj je večini otrok ob poizkušanju različnih možnosti uspelo. Otroci so bili pri delu vztrajni, natančni, ustvarjalni, večina je izdelke dokončala. Izdelki so bili tudi funkcionalni, predstavljeni na razstavi. Zaključimo lahko, da je volna kot material in njene tehnologije primerna za ustvarjalno delo v vrtcih, hkrati pa krepi odnos do tehnike ter tehnologije in okolja že v predšolskem obdobju.

Title:Wool technology in the kindergarten
Abstract:
Sheep wool is an ancient material of exceptional natural properties and has some advantages over synthetic materials that are widespread used, beside the impact on the environment is becoming more and more problematic. For this reason, knowledge about the wool in the kindergartens seems even more important. That way child can connect with the nature and the environment and can produce numerous useful products that wool technology allows. Because the usage of the wool is very broad, we believe it is very important for children in kindergarten to learn the wool harvest procedure and other wool related technological procedures. The goal of this thesis is to present the variety of activities with the sheep’s wool and to motivate other kindergartens to use this material. The problem is unfamiliarity with the material itself. In the theoretical part we introduce the wool processing and wool treatment, followed by introduction of different techniques and technologies that we can use in kindergarten. We also wrote a baseline of child development and games. The children showed great interest for the activities. We continued with dry felting making brooches which included felting with the needle. When children mastered wool handling each of them made a product on their own. Some help was necessary with young children, like making a bow tie and handling a needle. Wet felting proved to be the favourite activity for the children. With teacher's guidance they were able to make a product (felt-drawing). All products have been quality constructed. Children did pay attention to details like transparent parts which they connected with the wool on the base layer. Weaving proved to be more difficult for younger children. Children were able to detect possible problems with the yarn and the sticks and were able to fix it themselves. Younger children were not able to weave on their own yet. They were more interested in the process itself, than the product. With this kind of material children dealt the first time when making a bottom part of the handbags. The activity making a toy was done on their own as well. It proved that sewing a toy was not a difficulty. Proper environment, quiet space was all that children needed. The activity was implemented only with older children. Everyone was able to cut and sew. Filling up the toy with wool to stand upright proved to be more challenging. After trying out some options, most children have succeeded. During the activity children were persistent, accurate doing the fine work, creative, and overall most products were finished and put up on exhibition. The activity itself, material and technology all together proved to be suitable for creative activities in the kindergarten.
