The graduate thesis with the title Pre-literacy in kindergarten is composed of theoretical and empirical part.
In theoretical part I defined notion literacy and types of literacy. I spent a greater part on defining emergent literacy. At the end of theoretical part I compared the concept of pre-literacy in slovenian and finnish curriculum for kindegarten.
The gaol of my graduate thesis is to determine current state of preschool teachers knowledge in emergent literacy.
In the empirical part I concentrated on preschool teachers. With the help of a questionnaire I tried to figure out, how work experience of preschool teachers and age of children, who they work with, affect on initiating pre-literacy in kindergarten.
