Abstract
Diplomsko delo obsega razvoj hitrega brezkontaktnega merilnika razdalje. Osredotočimo se na lasersko tehnologijo merjenja po principu časa preleta svetlobe. Oddajnik je realiziran s pomočjo pulzne laserske diode visoke moči. Odbito svetlobo sprejmemo s plazovno fotodiodo, ki zagotavlja občutljivost na zelo majhno količino svetlobe. Visokozmogljivo integrirano vezje za merjenje časa (TDC) omogoča merjenje časa preleta v razredu nekaj deset piko sekund in s tem ločljivost merilnega sistema okoli 1 cm. Mikrokrmilnik povezuje posamezne sklope merilnika, požene meritev, posreduje rezultat preko komunikacijskih vrat in temperaturno kompenzira prednapetost plazovne fotodiode. Izdelan je prototip merilnika razdalje in ovrednoteni so rezultati glede na pričakovane lastnosti.

Title:
Development of a fast laser ranging device
Abstract:
Diploma thesis includes development of fast contactless distance measurement. We are focusing on laser technology with time of flight principle. Transmitter is realized with high power pulsed laser diode. Reflected light is received with avalanche photodiode which provides sensitivity on very low light level. High performance integrated circuit for time to digital conversion (TDC) allows measurement of time in several tens of picoseconds and thus resolution of measurement device of approximately 1 cm. Microcontroller connects each part of measurement device, starts the measurement, forwards the result through communication port and temperature compensates bias voltage of avalanche photodiode. Prototype of distance measurement device is built and results are evaluated according to expected specifications.
