Stališča predšolskih otrok do gluhih in naglušnih vrstnikov

Gluhi in naglušni otroci so skupina s posebnimi potrebami. Gluhota je po klasifikaciji Svetovne zdravstvene organizacije ena najtežjih oblik invalidnosti. Je nevidna invalidnost, ki pa ni samo telesna poškodba, saj se posledice kažejo tudi v kognitivnem, motoričnem, socialno-emocionalnem in govorno-jezikovnem razvoju. Gluhe in naglušne osebe imajo težavah pri sporazumevanju in vključevanju v okolje, v katerem živijo, se izobražujejo ali preživljajo prosti čas. Otroci v večinskih vrtcih imajo različna stališča do gluhih in naglušnih vrstnikov. Nekateri imajo z gluhimi in naglušnimi otroki izkušnje, drugi pa teh izkušenj nimajo. Cilj raziskave je bil ugotoviti, ali obstajajo razlike v stališčih predšolskih otrok do gluhih in naglušnih vrstnikov med otroki z izkušnjami in otroki brez teh izkušenj. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 22 otrok, starih od 4 do 6 let, ki so odgovarjali na anketni vprašalnik s trditvami, ki so vezane na štiri področja: motorične sposobnosti, kognitivne sposobnosti, socialni vidik in govorno-jezikovne sposobnosti. Rezultati so pokazali razlike v povprečnih vrednostih odgovorov med stališči glede na izkušnje. Največje razlike so se pokazale pri stališčih s področja kognitivnih sposobnosti, najmanjše pa pri stališčih do govorno-jezikovnih sposobnosti.

• Title: Preschool children's attitude toward deaf and hearing impaired peers

Abstract

Deaf and hearing impaired children are children with special needs. According to the World Health Organization, deafness is one of the most serious forms of disability. It is an invisible disability, which is not only physical but also affects the cognitive, social-emotional, motor and speech development. Hearing impaired people have difficulty communicating and integrating into the environment where they live, study or spend free time. Children in pre-school education have different perceptions of their deaf peers. Some have had experience with deaf and hearing impaired peers, others have not. The objective of the study is to determine whether there exist any differences in the attitudes of the children with and without the experience towards deaf and hearing impaired children. 22 children aged 4 to 6 were included into the study, which consisted of a questionnaire dividing statements into four areas: motor skills, cognitive skills, social aspect and speech-language skills. The results show visible differences of the average values of the responses within the group with and without the experience. The largest differences are seen in the area of cognitive skills while the smallest are seen in the area of speech-language skills.
