Za dosego določenih ciljev in razlage migracij določenih vrst živali si naravoslovci pomagajo s tehnologijo, ki se imenuje telemetrija. V diplomski nalogi sem želel dobiti pregled sistemov, ki se jih uporablja za opazovanje in preučevanje migracij ter ostalih fizioloških lastnosti živali. Najprej sem se seznanil z dosedanjim zgodovinskim delom uporabe telemetrije in se seznanil s posameznimi tehnologijami, ki se uporabljajo za sledenje. Del izobraževanja sem namenil predstavitvi uporabe telemetrije za sledenje rib. Na koncu sem eno izmed tehnologij (radijska telemetrija) v okviru danih zmožnosti tudi preizkusil na reki Ribnici.

Abstract

To achieve the set objectives and interpretation of the migration of animals, researchers can helps with the technology, called telemetry. In this thesis, I wanted to get a review of the systems that are used for the observation and study of migration and other physiological characteristics of the animals. I first get acquainted with the historical part of the use of telemetry and took note of the various technologies that are used for tracking. Part of the training was dedicated to the presentation of the use of telemetry to track fish. In the end, I did practice test of one technology (radio telemetry) on the river Ribnica within a range of capabilities.
