Abstract
Voda je osnovna človekova dobrina, ki spremlja človeštvo že od samega začetka. Zagotavljanje pitne vode je bilo nekoč velik izziv, prav nič drugače pa ni danes, kljub temu, da imamo visoko razvito tehnologijo za zajem, obdelavo in transport vode. V diplomskem delu primerjam stanje v sistemih za preskrbo s pitno vodo nekoč in danes ter nakažem možnosti za nadaljnji razvoj. Razdelam različne možnosti za prenos podatkov med soodvisnimi objekti vodovodnega sistema in ocenim njihove prednosti in slabosti. Predstavim tudi krmilno in merilno opremo, na koncu pa podam še smernice za izvedbo komunikacijskih povezav v sistemih za preskrbo s pitno vodo.

Title:Guidelines to implementation of communication links in water supply systems
Abstract:
Water is a basic human necessity and as such a part of humanity’s life from the very beginning. From the early and simple tools to high technology for water acquisition, treatment and distribution we have today, providing drinking water has remained a challenging task. In this thesis, water supply systems state in the past and present are compared and trends of possible future development are indicated. A focus is given on various ways of data transfer between dependent objects of water system and their advantages and drawbacks are evaluated. Thesis introduces control and measuring equipment and concludes with guidelines for communications development in water supply systems.
