Abstract
GSM tehnologija zaradi svojih karakteristik, med katerimi je najbolj izstopajoča dobra pokritost, še vedno kljubuje času in novejšim UMTS in LTE. Kljub temu lahko različni dejavniki povzročijo moten sprejem signala, kar se odrazi v slabši kvaliteti klica in občutno slabši avtonomiji baterije. V prvem delu diplomskega dela sem opisal zgodovino in osnove druge generacije brezžičnih tehnologij (GSM), gradnike mobilnega omrežja, značilnosti klica in težave, ki se lahko pojavijo. V praktičnem delu pa sem s pomočjo naprave Rohde & Schwarz CMU 200, GSM aparata Nokia 6230, spominskega osciloskopa Tektronix TDS2002B in predupora opravil meritve tokovne porabe na baterijskih sponkah terminala ob različnih močnostnih nivojih. Rezultati meritev razkrijejo kakšen vpliv na avtonomijo baterije predstavlja različno slabljenje signala, ki je lahko posledica oddaljenosti od bazne postaje ali naravnih oz. arhitekturnih ovir med bazno postajo in terminalom.

Title:Measurement of GSM terminal consumption at different power regimes
Abstract:
Due to it’s characteristics and especially good network coverage, GSM technology although of UMTS and LTE presence, still remains actual. Nevertheless because of many reasons fluctuation of signal is present, consequently autonomy drop occurs. First part of my diploma describes history and basics of GSM, mobile network components, call features and potential occurrence of troubles. Practical part shows current consumption on battery terminals of mobile equipment, at present different power states, taken with Rohde & Schwarz CMU 200, Nokia 6230 Mobile, memory osciloscope Tektronix TDS2002B and shunt. Represented results shows significant impact on battery autonomy at different signal fading which could be consequence of UE’s long distance from base station or obstacles between.
