Abstract

Title:System aspect of electricity supply from solar power plants
Abstract:
According to the modern way of life there is also a consistent increase in demand for electricity. Due to the threat of global warming, the EU also decided to drastically reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the sector of electricity production. Based on the experience from Germany, inclusion of nuclear power in this program is questionable. This means the transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources. In this thesis, we focused on the exploitation of the sun to produce electric energy: photovoltaic. Once extremely expensive photovoltaic systems have become cheaper to such an extent that their mass installation into the electric power system (EPS) seems as a rational decision at first glance. The problem with the operation of the electric power system occurs when this type of electricity production exceeds a certain percentage of the power of the electric power system. The thesis provides an introduction to the components of photovoltaic power plants and their technical characteristics, a brief analysis of the distribution of the costs of construction of photovoltaic, presents development of photovoltaic in Slovenia and the vision of its role in the future with the technical and economic point of view.
