Nadzor optičnega telekomunikacijskega omrežja z uporabo GIS sistema

Abstract
V magistrski nalogi se osredotočamo na učinkovitost in uporabnost geografskih informacijskih sistemov (GIS), njihovih prednosti in slabosti, ter njihovo uporabnost na področju optičnih omrežij. Bistvo GIS je, da vključujejo vse postopke obdelave, analize in tehnike prikaza, ki so se v različnih dotičnih znanostih razvijale vrsto let. Vsa ta orodja postavi na eno samo mesto, hkrati pa gradi most med posameznimi prostorskimi vedami, pa naj gre za humanistiko, družboslovje, naravoslovje ali tehniko. Omogoča enostaven pregled in uporabo različnih slojev na določenem geografskem področju in z njimi se izognemo težavnemu pregledovanju različnih fizičnih kart, zemljevidov in dokumentacije. Zaznali smo pomanjkljivost GIS na področju tehnične dokumentacije optičnih sistemov in omrežij. V magistrskem delu smo razvili prototip aplikacije, ki združuje tehnično dokumentacijo, slikovno gradivo in ustrezne druge podatke na spletnem zemljevidu in nam omogoča pregled situacijskih načrtov, vpogled v načrte in ponuja uporabna orodja za delo in pridobivanje informacij iz optičnih omrežij.

Abstract:
In this master thesis, we are focusing on the efficiency and usability of geographical information systems, its advantages and disadvantages, and its usability in the area of optical communication networks. The main purpose of a geographic information system is containing all elements of processing, analysis and displaying techniques developed in several years. It puts all this tools in one place and simultaneously it builds a bridge between different spatial sciences. It allows a simple overview and using of different layers on a specific geographical area and with it, we avoid the difficult inspection of physical geographical maps, plans, charts and documentations. We detected a lack of such systems with documentation of optical communication networks. In this master thesis, we developed an application prototype that combines technical documentation, picture material and other corresponding data on a geographical map on the web. It enables a simple overview of situation plans, insight into plans and diagrams and it offers a set of tools for gathering information from optical networks.
