Abstract
Slovenska gasilska organizacija temelji na prostovoljnem članstvu. Naloga prostovoljnih gasilskih društev ni zgolj aktivno sodelovanje pri gašenju in reševanju v primeru požarov, temveč tudi neformalno izobraževanje otrok in mladine o gorenju in gašenju. Gasilci s svojimi dejanji ne le rešujejo ljudi in jim pomagajo ob naravnih nesrečah, temveč jih tudi medsebojno povezujejo. Namen diplomskega dela je primerjati veljavne učbenike predmeta naravoslovje in tehnika v petem razredu in ugotoviti, ali se med njimi pojavljajo razlike. Poleg tega je namen tudi ugotoviti, ali prisotnost otrok v prostovoljnih gasilskih društvih in opravljen tečaj pionirja vplivata na znanje o gorenju in gašenju. Učna vsebina o gorenju in gašenju se obravnava v 5. razredu osnovne šole, v okviru predmeta naravoslovje in tehnika, pri katerem je bila raziskava tudi narejena. Podatke znanja otrok o gorenju in gašenju sem pridobil s pomočjo preizkusa znanja, ki ga je rešilo 55 učencev treh različnih osnovnih šol dolenjske regije. Za primerjalno analizo so bili uporabljeni štirje različni učbeniki predmeta naravoslovje in tehnika 5, v katerih je bilo analizirano poglavje o gorenju in gašenju. V analizi so bili analizirani splošni podatki učbenikov, ki so zajemali podatke o številu strani, na katerih je obravnavana učna vsebina, besedilni in slikovni material. Med učbeniki ni izrazitih odstopanj, največ različnega besedilnega in slikovnega materiala pa vsebuje učbenik Raziskujem in ustvarjam 5, založbe Mladinska knjiga. Poleg primerjalne analize je bila opravljena tudi raziskava znanja učencev o gorenju in gašenju. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da so učenci, ki so člani prostovoljnih društev in imajo opravljen tečaj pionirja, bolje rešili pred preizkus znanja in preizkus znanja (opravljen po enem tednu), vendar razlike niso statistično pomembne. Pozni preizkus znanja, ki je bil opravljen po enem letu, pa je pokazal, da so učenci, ki niso člani prostovoljnih gasilskih društev, v povprečju usvojili več znanja kot učenci, ki imajo opravljen tečaj pionirja in so člani prostovoljnih gasilskih društev. Prav tako kot pri pred preizkusu znanja in preizkusu znanja so statistične razlike med rezultati poznega preizkusa znanja statistično nepomembne.

Title:Voluntary fire service and children knowledge about burning and fire fighting
Abstract:
Slovenian firefighting organization is based on voluntary membership. The task of voluntary fire fighter's organization (brigade) is not only active participation in firefighting and rescuing events but also in non- formal education of children and youth about the burning and extinction (putting out the fire). Fire fighters do not only help and rescue people during natural disasters. They also bring people together. The purpose of my diploma thesis was to compare the existing Science and technology course books in the fifth grade and determine if there are differences between them. I have also wanted to determine whether the presence of children in volunteer fire fighter’s organization and completed course have impact of the knowledge of the burning and extinction. Learning content of burning and extinction is taught in fifth class at subject Science and technology. I have gained the date of children’s knowledge through the examination which was taken by 55 pupils in three different primary schools in Dolenjska region. Four different course books were used for the comparative analysis. The analysis showed the analysed general date from course books and also data of the number of pages on which we can find educational content, texts and image material. There are no significant deviations among course books. The course book Raziskujem in ustvarjam 5, published by Mladinska knjiga, has the largest selection of text and image materials. Beside the comparative analysis, a survey on student’s knowledge about burning and extinction was also conducted. Research results show that pupils who are members of firefighting organization and have completed the course for pioneers have solved the pre examination and examination (one week later) better than other students. But the differences are not statistically important. Examination which was taken one year later showed that pupils who are not the members of the firefighting organisation gained more knowledge than those who are members and have completed the course for pioneers. Statistical differences between results of later examinations are also not statistically important.
